Funding Your Program
Michigan Grants
MACUL
The Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning is the organization that supports our grant. As heir name show, their interested in programs and educators who want to incorporate computers and computer equipment into their lessons. They give preference for those programs who can be replicated in other learning environments. Grant award limit: $1,500.00. |
MEEMIC
The Meemic Foundation for the Future of Education was founded in 1992 by the Meemic Insurance Company. Its grants are intended to support those educators who want to incorporate innovative learning programs into the classroom and are available to program developers in both Michigan and Wisconsin. Grant award limit: 2,500.00 + some specialty grant of varying amounts for specific items. |

Nation-Wide Grants
Best Buy Community Grants
In the 2012-2013 school year, Best Buy gave out $2.8 million through their Community Grant Program. They're looking to support programs that help teenagers learn through technology to better themselves in school and to acquire 21st Century Learner skills. Average grant award amount: $4,000-6,000.00, not to exceed $10,000.00. |
Intel US Community Grants
Intel Community Grants support schools and non-profits that build and enact programs that support science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). There is a long line for folks who want a chance to be rewarded Intel grant money (usually between $5-10,000.00), and decisions are often made up to a year in advance - so get that grant application in there! Intel only supports those communities that are near where branches of Intel are located - for a list of those cities, look here. |
Stanley Black & Decker Community Grants
Black & Decker offers competitive community grants for a wide range of services, ranging from building homes to helping to erect local hospitals. They DO, however, also support STEM educational programs "at all levels" - and that means us, right? They do not stipulate how much their grants typically reward grantees, but the "Citizanship Onquiry Form" seems simple enough to fill out - it's definitely worth a try! |
Follett Challenge
Follett is giving away the BIG bucks! They're looking for educators who are using innovative programming to teach students 21st Century Skills and how to become better learners (sounds right up our alley, right?). Grand prize is $60,000!!! More cash prizes and other product giveaways for winners and all you have to do is fill out a questionnaire and make a short video. Go for it! |
