Resources For Students
Want to keep tinkering? Check out the links below for websites and information to continue "making" using the tools we worked with at Michigan Makers!
University of St. Thomas
Check out where all this fun with electricity and conductive dough got started! Researchers created a project in the Thomas Lab at the University of St. Thomas and pretty much invented Squishy Circuits there! This website will give you lists of materials you'll need, recipes for dough, project ideas, and more.
Sylvia's Mini Maker Show - Squishy Circuits
Ever hear of Super Sylvia? Well, we have - and we love her. She's a kid who makes awesome videos about making and technology. This is a great video because it walks you through making your own dough at home, teaches you about the different types of circuits, and go more into depth about the way electricity behaves.
Squishy Circuits Store
That's right - there's an entire online store devoted to Squishy Circuits materials and components! They sell individual parts, fun kits for special projects, and they also run a super cool SC photo contest where contestants can submit photos of their SC inventions and win a $25 gift card to the store! (Check out the amazing SC brain here.)
Want to see videos of our pigs? Check 'em out here!

Choice of Games
Here's a fun website that allows you to create your own multiple choice games. You can play games that have already been created, or make your own using the website's "simple scripting language for writing text-based games, ChoiceScript" - learn to code while having a blast!
Stencyl
Wondering what in the heck that incredible software was that the high school MMers were using to build their video game? Here it is! Stencyl is an incredible mobile game creator that allows you to do what expert video game makers do, with all the bells and whistles. The gameplay designer allows you to work with raw code OR use their drag-and-drop option for those who aren't as familiar with programming. Try it out!
Jane McGonigal: Gaming can make a better world
Check out this awesome TED Talk on YouTube with Jane McGonigal - if you didn't feel inspired or proud of your game-making abilities, you certainly will after watching this video! Learn about how your skills will become more and more important in and out of school and can revolutionize the way the world works.
